Freedom Valley Rescue was built on the belief that horses deserve better than being discarded when they become inconvenient.
Our roots trace back to Blaine, Tennessee, where the mission first took shape. What started as a commitment to step in when others wouldn’t has grown into a dedicated rescue effort now serving equines along historic Route 66 in Missouri. The heart of this work has never changed.

We take in horses and donkeys facing neglect, abandonment, or slaughter and give them a real chance at stability. That means veterinary care, rehabilitation, proper nutrition, and time — sometimes a lot of time. Some animals go on to carefully screened adoptive homes. Others stay with us for life as sanctuary residents.
Providing safety for horses and donkeys in danger.
Medical care, nutrition, and recovery support.
Helping animals find loving homes or lifelong sanctuary.
Rescue is not glamorous. It is daily chores, emergency calls, fence repairs, and long-term responsibility. It is showing up consistently, even when it is hard.
We believe in transparency, responsible animal stewardship, and educating our community about ethical ownership and lifelong commitment.
Every decision we make balances welfare, safety, and sustainability.
